Default Happy Porscheversary to me!

20 years ago today, I started my midlife crisis early by bringing home the '87 944.

She had a few bugs to work out early on but has since been a very reliable car and a solid, year-round driver.

She's our go-to road trip car, including a trip up to Michigan a few summers ago (the picture is the old girl overlooking Lake Huron).

She even spent some time as a track toy before I decided that I would rather put the Miata into a tire wall.

Lastly, she proved her worth as a practical car during the months after my wife's car accident as it was the only car we had left that could swallow a wheelchair. (Although parking a Porsche in a handicap spot always garnered dirty looks when people didn't see the whole picture.)

So "Hurray!" for the last 20 years and 106,793 miles I have clocked and I look forward to the next 20 years and 106,793 miles!

BB.

Congratulations Beer Burner and may you two have many more years together. Seeing you're in Sterling have you ever shown that beauty off at the Deutsche Marque Concours d'Elegance held in May at Nottingway Park?

I see your nose piece has those vent openings in it. So, was that the style in that year? My 1990 S2 has a solid nose piece.

Thanks, but unfortunately, the car isn't clean enough for that unless they have a "driver's category" or something. She's got her share of patina.

Some people say "My car is a Porsche." I say "My Porsche is a car and drive it regularly." (Not my words but I love 'em. I did read them somewhere on Rennlist, tho!)

It's a nose panel from a 931 that I pieced together at the Hershey Porsche swap meet 7 or 8 years ago. I doubt it does much functionally but I think it really changes the look of the car.

This post put a smile on my face. 20 years for me also, and if only I could find the love like the love that I had for my first Porsche. That beast was totaled on the way to work by some @#✓¢\! I was slammed into and thrown into another vehicle and the driver's, passenger areas were undamaged. The poor thing was totaled but what a safe car that Porsche builds! Mine was a '87 924S.
