Default how much play is acceptable in strut mounts?

so i've mostly finished rebuilding my struts with the koni units (see my other exciting thread on the subject) but when i went to put the whole thing back together on the driver's side, i noticed that the sleeve at the bottom of the strut mount "clicked" back and forth a little (1 mm or so), will this cause any problem or is it normal? i didn't notice it on the other side, but i didn't check for it either. i was hoping to get these together, if not in the car, today, so i don't really want to wait a week for a new strut mount, but if it'll be a problem i guess i'll have to.

I replaced both my strut mounts with the hotsy-totsy and pricey 968 mounts and the passenger side has a tiny bit of play when the car is off the ground and the suspension is drooping. But when the car's on its wheels, it's rock solid. So maybe a little slop when the suspension is unloaded is OK? Seems to be in my case anyway (aligning the car was no problem).
