Default Sway Bar Color

Gee what color should I paint the sway bars before I install them? Just curious what others have done.

I would skip paint and get them powder coated. Color is obviously your choice, I'm always a fan of original. Had mine powder coated in gloss black, will last forever.

@DSMblue is right, and I was not clear about what I actually did. That part on my car is powder coated, not painted.

Cheers

I powder coated my Weltmeister bars about 10 years ago and they still look exactly the same. Definitely the way to go if that's available to you.

If you get them powdercoated, which I think is the way to go, spend some time with the shop that does the work (or if you do it yourself) and really figure out where the bushings are. Since there's not a good bolt hole in the sway bar, you'll want to get the piece supported by wires right where the bushings are. That way you can still get a good ground for applying the powder, and anything that isn't fully powdercoated gets protected by the bushing. As a bonus, that non-coated bit gets hidden.

Cheers

Just following up. I agree the powder coat would be the way to go but for now I found a decent looking Blue on the shelf in the shop. the car is a silver blue if you will so some similarity. Ill put up a pic when done later today. We have nice weather for painting.
