Check your TPS… should click the second you open the butterfly on the throttle body. Even then could still be a bad tps. Sounds like you covered most other things. Does it jerk from idle to 2000k or just at one spot near the 2000k mark?

It was a crack that pulled open when the engine flopped around under load. If not that maybe knock sensor.

Sorry for the dumb question, but are you feathering the clutch at low RPM (assuming you have a manual)? My car always does the herky-jerky at low RPM if I am not feathering the clutch.

I would go with what Cyclone said about the TPS:
http://www.clarks-garage.com/shop-manual/fuel-06.htm

Do the jerks only occur with the car in gear? In other words, does the engine rev without stumbling if you have the transmission in neutral?

When my rubber-centered clutch destroyed itself, there was a lot of jerkiness in the drivetrain, but the jerkiness was not limited to 2000rpm and below.
