Default What sparkplugs should I use??

I am going to change my sparkplugs this weekend any suggestions as to what i should use?? I'm no where near a Porsche dealer so i really can't use OEM parts. I was thinking I was going to change to NGK plugs but wanted to get an opinon first.

Try to stick with Bosch coppers. They have optimum spark with the OEM coil setup. Stay away from Bosch plats unless you put in a new better coil.

Still, it's only 4-5 bucks each.

Stock is Bosch WR8DS. I just changed to NGK BP5ES and like them.

Either way stick with copper core. Stay away from the platinum and multiple electrode plugs.

Gap .028 -.031 " for NGK or Bosch.

The threads on the NGK I installed seemed to start at the same place more consistently than the Bosch. All of them ended up pointing mostly toward the valves within the torque spec.

This is the first set of NGKs I've used, so I don't know if that's by design or if I just got lucky.

I went with Bosch Supers, part # WR7DC for my '87 924S. Should be the same for the '84. I originally had some pretty well used NGK-R plugs. Smoothed the idle out a bit.

My 83 is supposed to use a WR8, but I've used WR7s, too. WR8 is a hotter plug, but I've never noticed a difference between them.

The Bosch website says that 83-84 uses WR8, 85- uses WR7. I didn't know there was any significant difference in the 83, 84, 85 models.

My idle smoothed out with the NGKs I installed this weekend. Maybe it just needed new plugs.

I've used NGK for a while now, they work just fine...from what I hear it's not the best idea to use the platinum ones unless your engine is upgraded to handle the spark.

No platinum, the coils in these cars don't put out enough voltage to fire them.

Bosch copper WR7DC. Don't forget the anti-seize on the threads.

Dwight, you probably have a faily new coil. Or an aftermarket higher output coil.

Ask Chris, he knows!

I just put in some new Bosch copper's. Car runs the same as before, but I don't know how old the other plugs were.
