I don't have a recommendation, but these are the few experiences I've had with Austin repair shops on my 944 that I've owned since 1994:
1) TPWS. They replaced the rubber-centered clutch that had disintegrated. Lowest quoted price of 3 shops. When I got the car back, the J boot had been disconnected on one end and it caused the car to run poorly. Easily fixed it myself. They asked to replace the speed/reference sensors, and I agreed. When I inspected the sensors later, I recognized them as the originals. One had duct tape on it that I had put on there, and the other sensor had a cracked plastic connector which I had broken when I tried to remove it from an earlier repair. I asked for and got the "old" parts. Clutch is holding up fine years later.
2) TPWS. Repaired a leaking fuel line. Reasonable price, no issues, still holding up years later.
3) Northwest Imports. They could not fix a mushy brake pedal, but they did not charge me anything. It eventually worked itself out.
TPWS had 911s in their parking lot, whereas Northwest Imports had a mix of import cars.
