Worry about millage, or just enjoy the car?
1990 s2 Cab. I just turned 70,000 miles today. Not bad for a 33 year old car. The car is in great mechanical shape, everything is sorted. 33 year old original paint is aging ok, but get up close and you can see the "patina".
As the weather turns warm, we just want to get out and drive this car. It is so fun. The last 3 years we have put 6,000 miles in total. I could see us doing 10,000 a summer if I wanted. But I don't want to have a 100,000 mile car.
What are your thoughts on a car like this. Too many miles to be a garage queen museum piece, not enough miles to be a beater I dont care about.

First world problem.
Drive it as the car you love for another 30,0000 miles, then you can drive it, including to the grocery store, for another 50,000 miles.
Or, sell it and buy something else. This option costs more.

even though it looks very nice, the cabs are not overly collectible cars. drive it and enjoy it!!

I'm on team "Drive it". Maintain it like you have been so that it doesn't turn into a beater and, best case, there's a wonderful car available for whoever comes after, to enjoy. I don't know the convertibles but my 944 is the nicest to drive of my front engine cars, they're really sort of magically compliant in the twisties.

If I may suggest: Drive the hell out of her!!!
Don't worry about the next owner or the amount of miles shown. I'm approaching 150K miles on my 84 and still take 3-4K mile trips with ease.

Your wife is getting into the high mileage category and you still love her, right?
Your FIL is smiling down watching you drive his daughter around in his gorgeous convertible.
Make sure her hair blows around in the wind a lot, I bet he likes that.
I would.
Do it for Pops.
..and if it really bugs you disconnect the odo!

There's only one answer - drive it! You'll get much more intangible value out of using that beautiful car than any drop in monetary value due to mileage. It is over 30 years old, the mileage is pretty irrelevant at this point. As others have stated, the value will be determined much more by condition than by mileage.

Different people enjoy their cars in different ways so, ultimately, do what brings you the most joy with the car.
For me, well, some people say their car is a Porsche but I say "My Porsche is a car" and I drive it. I'm at 202k miles and it's still our go-to road trip car.
BB.
