Passenger window not working ?
Hi All, Passenger window not working from either driver door or passenger door switch. Any thoughts on where to start before removing door panel or swapping out window regulator / motor ? Thanks

early or late model 944?
on the early cars at least the window switches can come apart but only get rebuilt 1 way - its possible to reassemble them incorrectly which can cause this issue

try swapping those switches around with the (presumably functional) switch from the driver window.
the way the 944 is wired, both passenger switches need to be installed and functional for the passenger window to work.
might have a dead switch - or the connectors to the passenger door might be unplugged (just behind the kick plate carpet)
i dont think ive ever heard of a 944 window motor actually failing.

before assuming its the regulator or the motor you should break out the multimeter and start testing for voltage at the motor and at both switches. Are the switches getting power? Are the wires to the motor getting power? This will help you identify the problem before wasting money on unneeded parts.

A couple of hints. Once the window relay is engaged by turning on the ignition, there is 12V on both sides of the window motors. The switches will end up changing one side or the other to ground, causing the motor to move. Look at the schematic for the early car, it is much easier to figure out how the windows work than the later car schematic. Once you understand how the circuit works, look to the schematic for your year car, it will have the correct wire colors. They work the same.

probably the pass window motor, they are the first to go bad from lack of use. You COULD however push back the accordion boot in the pass front door jamb and look for broken wires
