944 central lock switch
Is the central lock switch located in the console a two way switch? I depress mine and the doors lock and the switch lights up, but it doesn't unlock the doors when it is pressed again. Is it supposed too? Should it operate like the roof switch, push it at the bottom and it locks push it at the top of the switch and it unlocks?

From the owner's manual:
Central Locking Switch
By pressing the central locking switch (A) in the centre console it is possible with the ignition key in position 2 to lock or unlock both doors electrically. As a check, if the doors are locked, a red indicator lamp in the switch lights up.
If one of the doors has been locked manually, the red indicator lamp lights up. By pressing the switch, the door is unlocked; when pressed again, both doors are locked.
With the ignition key removed, locking is possible by means of the central locking switch. To unlock, the ignition must be switched on or the locking button raised.

Yes. Both doors lock and unlock with the key. They also lock with the central switch. They just don't unlock. They move up some when the switch is pressed again but don't unlock.

Three Wheelin'
I'm thinking the electronic solenoids in the door need adjusting. You'll have to take off the door panels to gain access. The procedure is in the factory repair manual.
