1987 944 base non ABS Girling use Ate brake master
Does a 1987 Porsche 944 base model NON-ABS with Girling brake booster use an ATE brake master cylinder? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My experience is very limited, so please treat my answer as just one data point, hopefully more knowledgeable people will chime in.
My car (1987 S, non-ABS) came with a Girling brake booster and Girling master. My belief is that Porsche matched ATE + ATE and Girling + Girling for these components.
In PET, Porsche uses separate part numbers for the Girling and ATE versions.
In my own case, I am updating my car to use Turbo fixed calipers and as part of that am using a new ATE master cylinder. I considered keeping the Girling booster, but in the end decided to get a "matching" ATE booster. Some research I did suggests that the extended piston length is 1/2" shorter in the Girling master compared to the ATE, and the the ATE booster is designed for that. But it also seems that many people have mixed these and have been OK, so I am not 100% certain.
