Comming home from work today I saw 3 P-cars with in a couple miles and not a single one of them returned the wave
First up was a burgundy 951 on route 24 east, second was a blue 996 on the ramp in Summit (OK, he was going the other way and might have missed it), and 3rd was a silver Boxster S on Morris Ave.

Maybe if I'd been driving the 944?

If some nut in a gold (almost Kalahari Beige) pickup waved at you , It was me. I couldn't resist, after I saw the 951 in the distance I had to catch up just to wave, even driving the Ranger (do you have any idea what it takes to catch a 951 in a Ford Ranger? ).

It's funny that you bring this up, Dave. In the 9 months that I've had my car, I haven't gotten a single wave or flash. It kind of bums me out. I just waved at a fellow in a 944 in the Morristown square the other day and he looked at me like I was a nutter. I'd understand if he was in a Boxster sipping a latte, but jeez...

Keep making the attempts. I've had my car on the road now for 2 years and have only gotten 5 waves from other 944s, 2 of them in the last week.

I waved to a 951 today and I was driving my Audi!
The driver even waved back, probably thought I was a nut.

I managed 3 in a half hour a couple months ago, not a single one since but I haven't driven the p-car much since then. Funny thing is, I keep waving, even when I'm in the truck. Last week I waved to a guy in a 944 with a modified rear quarter, ironically I'd seen him a few months ago (March?), on the same streach of 287, only the first time I was in the 944 and ran with him for a while.
I got a wave from an Audi a few months back, turns out it was our autox chairman.

Funnything, This summer i have not seen one other 944 series cars. I used to ave. 2 a week last couple of years. None this year. Where have they all gone? parted out? Hope not.. by the way none of them ever really looked let alone wave back.. I have not seen any in any parking lots this year either.. Used to get that at least once a month... Michigan rust?

Today actually, i was parked in my town, a beautiful black 993 came by me as i was about to pull out... he paused next to me, nodded gave a little wave, and drove off... I saw he had two kids in the rear seats too.. hehe. Made me feel good.


Oh yeah... and cue UD.

Dave and KLR, I'll keep an eye out for you guys. I'm in the Morristown area but my family's down in your area Dave. I have a white 951. I also know someone who drives a white 944 from Union up to my town every day.

I pass a red 944 going the other way almost every day on my drive to Princeton. He never waves back, though.

That's what I want, a wave from a 911. I haven't even gotten a look from any local boxster or 911 owner.

Iwave whenever i can catch one. I remember once a guy in a later 80's 951 and he would notlook at me. HE knew i was there too which bothered me. Where is the comradery?

I saw a damn Ferrari today. It was awesome as hell. I think it was an F50. He rolled down his window and was like "I like that car what is that? A 928?" i said "Nope, its a 944." and he goes "Ohhh yeah i remeber those! Take care"
