Hey Dave. Looks sharp, and easier than I would have expected, but I am a little confused. Do you have to cut the lower spring perch off, or did you do this just for cosmetic reasons?

It is partly cosmetic and partly to allow full adjustment of the Ground Control kit.

And also allow the use of wider rubber in the front.

Ok, I'm new to some of this I guess. The wider front rubber I get, but could someone elaborate on the ground control kit? Is this just the adjustable spring perch?

here is my coil over kit. I choose not to remove the front perches. Never had an issues, but I only run 225/50 tires on stock 15x7 wheels.

Mike, the GC parts are the threaded sleeve and perch, yes.

Dave, I'm not sure I'm the right gender to be saying this, but... you're rubber is on upside down The bump rubber goes the other way. No big deal, really - they still function that way. Great job!

Joe, nice dryer hose!

LOL Skip
Next time I have them off I'll make sure and fix that...assuming I ever take them off again. I'm sure they'll function better than my old bump rubber....remember those?
As soon as I touched them they disintegrated into about 6 billion pieces!

I'm still trying to comprehend the concept of an OUTDOOR vehicle lift.

cool - same setup i have. the front springs are actually 2.25" IIRC and the rears are 2.5". my front springs are 10" tall and the rears are 9" tall. the problem is they come unloaded in the rear, but that will be solved when i lower the entire suspension another 3/4-1".

interesting that you got the KLA upside down!! does that mean your adjusting **** is at the bottom? this would be great if i could figure out how to do that!! do you have pics?

I just bought the same koni sport struts (used) and I am really wanting the coil over set up. But I have a couple of questions: Are 300# springs ok if I keep the stock torsion bars? I've been told that these are good for an otherwise stock 951 but I see that you've got the 300's with a much stiffer rear. What's a good spring rate if using stock torsions with Koni sports (@ full stiff) in the rear? Also, is there any cheap and easy way to get rear helper springs over the Koni sports that I've already got? (By the way it's an '86 951 with otherwise stock suspension.)
Thanks----

If you put 300# on the front with stock torsion bars, it's going to understeer badly. Some guys on here actually use an even bigger 29mm torsion in the rear, but 28 seems pretty balanced with my current setup of sway bars and shock stiffness.

My other setup was 200# up front with stock torsion bars and full stiff Konis in the rear, and it was balanced perfectly. I have those 200# ones for sale if you want them. I also have the aluminum spacer that will change them from 1.25" drop up front to about .25" if you don't want to drop it much.
