Notice I hadn't finished cleaning that fenderwell when I took that pic, lol. I know they won't stay that way anyways but I wanted it to look nicer for the pics so my clean new parts wouldn't have a backdrop of that nastiness...oh well, the other one looked pretty good

It's not a big deal really...it works the same outside as it does inside. We've been out there working in the rain (under the car you stay pretty dry) and in the dark (got some good spotlights). It does get pretty hot out there during the summer though...winter here in FL is much nicer to work on the cars

My other setup was 200# up front with stock torsion bars and full stiff Konis in the rear, and it was balanced perfectly. I have those 200# ones for sale if you want them. I also have the aluminum spacer that will change them from 1.25" drop up front to about .25" if you don't want to drop it much.
Are your 200# coil overs or weltmeisters? If they're coilovers, how much do you want for them and do they come with the spring perches and threaded collars?

Also, are helper springs needed with the coilovers?

So, what you got there are the original sealed struts?

I replaced my Koni inserts (had to drill/modify the original ones) and install new ones.....went with new springs/bushings/bumpstops etc for the whole front end.......

Here's a sneak peak.......

Does your 'kit' completely remove the T-bar?

I've heard of people doing it. Our design was as a helper spring application.

No they're Weltmeisters..the ones you see in the pic up there with the spring compressors on it.

Helper springs aren't required, but some people use them.

that doesn't help me - i've already got the KLA units but need to be able to invert what i have for easier adjustability.

dave120 - i have my front control arms off and the ball joints rebuilt now. want to put in delrin bushings. i removed all the bushings from the front and then noticed it looks like there is a metal collar lining the front bushing surface, such that the bushing intalls inside this metal collar. is this what yours looked like? it appears that this collar is placed there to protect the aluminum control arm, and needs to be completely smooth to accomodate the bushing. impressions?

I haven't changed any bushings in the front. The Delrin bushings I put in were for the rear spring plates that are on the torsion tube

Is it possible to drop the whole assembly down and change springs without removing the strut ?

I have a kit installed already, btu was wondering what is involved in changing springs - if I can match the ride height, can I switch them over without screwing up my alignment ?

Yep... I have changed struts inserts on my 83 944 and 84 944 without taking the strut off the spindle. It is tight sqeeze and you need to loosen the sway bar.
