Default MSD Blaster 2 Impressions

I just installed the Blaster 2 coil last night and I am really happy with the results.
The first thing I noticed is that on startup its just starts right up. This is compared to what happend on my old coil when the car would fire a few times then die or fire and start on 3cylinders and then finally after a few seconds of misfireing the engine would come to life.

I have not been able to drive the car yet but after how well the car is starting I am sure my old coil was dieing.

I didn't really notice a difference with mine, except a nice looking addition to the "things i've done to / parts I put in or replaced in my car"!

I took the blaster 2 out of the yeller car and replaced it with my coil. It sounds better and also runs better no doubt about it.

Does the coil come with the resistor? Does the car really need it? Where did you get the coil from? Jegs or from somewhere else.

Just got to drive my car a bit more with it, quite an improvement. The engine feels and sounds smoother at higher RPMs and has more low down power, not a ton but its noticble. Its better at 1000RPM, that area, as in getting the car moving.

Im going to do the ballast resistor in a few minutes, but I should think that ANY stock car needs it, thats what the instructions say. The primary coil is a lower resistance. The resister is a few bucks from the store, it would be hard to get it cheaper as its a low value resistor with a high current handling ability (its a large ceramic resitor).

MSD claims that its not needed if you are not running the blaster on a non-points system... AKA Electronic ignition
