Ken, thanks for the explanation (I'm ignorant to these issues!).

Any thoughts on the 55-65mph sutter being addressed, at least partially, by the solid mount?

Do these come with all the hardware needed? What stock hardware is retained?

Also, how easily is camber adjusted? I am trying to decide between these, the Ground Control/Paragon camber plates and the Racer's Edge camber plates.

Does it only work with late cars, or can early cars use them too?

Don't think it'll help. It wasn't a consideration of design. Consider, Porsche changed the mount to something (that I consider) more heavy duty and the vibration sensitivity is still there.

New mounting bolts included. Reuse the washers/nuts. These are designed as stock replacments and are NOT camber adjustable

YET! You didn't take it yet.

And that conversation was only about the rear shocks. I'm also planning for other things you sell.

I just recently upgraded to the turbo strut/koni inserts with the later upper mounts. My concern with these solid mounts is that the axis of rotation for the entire macpherson strut does not exactly line up with the strut axis, as the positon of the lower ball-joint is off-axis. (see the pic) In fact I noticed that the rubber of the upper mount flexed as the wheels turned due to this fact. If the upper bearing is spherical it would solve the problem, otherwise I think over time it would fail.

Duh, just reread the description. Any way you guys could post a cut-away drawing on the web site to show the construction highlights?

Yep, spherical bearing. Only way to go with this project. Don't have a cutaway drawing, if I have some time later, maybe I'll hand do one. Basically the construction is 2 pieces. Steel plate that bolts to the car. Aluminum plate (round part) that holds bearing and bolts to the steel plate. AL plate is solid billet machined to hold the bearing. Reason we use steel/aluminum combo is cost. To do the whole thing from 1 piece of aluminum creates alot of waste material. We have very little waste on ours which brings the price way down.

Derek,

The gains are in the handling. The gain in handling on a car will bepend on how good (or bad) your rubber uppers are. The more warn the uppers the more you will feel the gain. Beyond that, you will also have a lifetime upper that at most you will have to replace a bearing at a cost of about $28.00.

This upper solves two problems, 1. Flex during hard cornering and 2. High cost of OEM mounts.

Ken
