There's a guy here in the Bay Area who is constantly advertising on Craigslist.org he will put that engine in a 944 or (If i remember correctly) a 914.. I know nothing about it, other than I would never buy it....

The car looks nicely done, except for the ugly hood scoop. I think I'll stick with Randy's idea.

In my view, if you remove the engine, you remove the heart of the car... goodbye Porsche, at least insofar as its designers intended. If someone wants an eight cylinder Porsche, for $16,000, he or she can pick up a very nice 928 S4. Or, if one wants a quick 951 in its factory form, as Randy said, $16,000 would buy a Turbo S in excellent condition.

NeedPorscheSpeed.... just curious, how do you decide which car you are going to drive? How often do you drive them? One for the day of the week or what? Are they in garages? Sorry for all the questions, but that is one impressive stable you've got there!

That is probably one cool car. I can't understand how an Porsche enthusiast could do that, though. It's not a Porsche anymore.

I've tossed around the idea for a v8 in my Project 951, just for cheap horsepower. But if I were to make anything a bastard, I'd use a datsun.

Seller has zero feedback, no info about when the conversion was done or how well it runs. Overpriced too, as the lack of bids shows.

Beware.

It's not a Porsche anymore, it's an abortion! I'd much rather drive a C4 style vette then a 944 with GM power. I'm no vette fan but it only makes sense.

I agree 110% Danton. Keep the Chevy parts for the legos...err...chevys (;-)), the Ford parts with the Fords, and the Porsche parts with the obsession. :-)
