Is there a way to put a different nose on my car?
Someone was telling my I could swap out parts of my 1977 924 front end so I could have the more "porschish" look.Like a newer style rounded front end without the bumper sticking out of the front and a ground effect look to it.Can someone shine the light on this and tell me what front ends I could swap on if I could do any at all?
Thanks,
Ron

Ron,
The bumper on US version cars stick out due to the shocks on our 5 mph bumpers. Many have recessed the bumpers by drilling a hole in the shock to relieve the pressure then pushing the shock back. There are obvious drawbacks to this procedure such as a wider gap by the fenders. Another option is to buy a euro front end and bumper.

That is a 951 nose...I think you would need a LOT of work done to it....it sounds to me that after this and the turbo post...you need to just sell the 924....sell the camaro to me () and buy a 951....trust me...its worth it...

Ok...Camaro:$200.00.Mustang with built and bored .030 over 302 Motor:$150.00.Porsche that it sounds like no one likes...:$25000.00!LOLPlus there are no Porsches around where I live for sale or even seen half the time.I figure screw the turbo it is still registered for 150m.p.h. so oh well.I just like the flared front end.

Honestly............
I think that your nine-24 looks very porsche-like. A tastefull mod would be to get euro front and rear bumpers, and also maybe consider filling in the rear round quarter panel lights (so in the end you would have a 924 that looks very euro).
The 924 is the car that started the whole 944/951/968 family. I would love to have an unmolested, euro-spec (or copy) early 924 someday.

I was just kiddin about the Camaro.Sorry.I would probally never sell that car.It was my first car.I have probally owned 20 or more cars so it has sentimetal as well as book price()value.
Not trying to tease but since on topic it has the original drivetrain.307 SBC,TH350,10 bolt rear.Came with factory A/C.I am not going for a total resto on that just the modifiyed muscle car theme.
If you are looking for a second generation camaro like mine have you checked out www.nastyz28.com?A lot of useful info there and they sell full cars alot.It has a board just like this one except for Camaros and Z28s.There are alot of friendly people there to.Take a look.

About the rear euro would I have to get different style taillights for my car because I have the taillight panel that says PORSCHE in the center instead of a place for a licence plate. The licence plate bolts to my rear bumper.
The front is also a big but good difference too. What year is that blue one though because it doesnt have those wierd lookin reflectors on the sides of the fenders like mine.Is that another difference of the euro front? Also the GFX piece is different too right?Or no?I have only had my car for less than a week so I cant remember how it looks yet.
Ron
Edit:Is that a GFX piece on your rear bumper or a seperate piece?

The back center "PORSCHE" panel is removable, there will be 4 holes to fill, and you can move the license plate back between the lights where it belongs. You won't need new tail lights.
The front valance and bumper is a euro one. They don't have the ugly side US-spec repeaters. The euro cars don't have the same ugly repeaters on the rear quarters either.......
