Default Gold 951's Lets see them... (or 944s)

Ok, so gold isn't the official porsche color code, but we all know thats what it is close to, but lets see them.

I've seen a few that have been done well, but didn't save the pictures.

TIA

Mine's linen metallic...not sure if that qualifies as gold in your books, but click HERE for pics. It looks a lot more gold in person that the pics show.

Pete,

I'm always up to something, but this time it is not too ground breaking, i'll just shoot you a PM.

boffam,

that is what I had in mind, there are a couple porsche colors like that, I think of them as the bronze / gold colors, regardless of what they are named.

I am one of the very few out there that really thinks Kalahari is a gorgeous color on 944s and 951s. Absolutely beautiful!

I like Kalahari as well. I saw Nabeel's car at 944fest and thought it was a cool color. At night I almost got it confused with my car because that color looks silver in the dark.

Darnit! Where is John Madden with his "Ian play-by-play" white-board when you need him? What did I miss now?

Ernestedward - is that a Turbo and is it yours? If so I have two questions.
1) do you know how unusual 15" PDs are on a 951?
2) could you take a sneak peak at the option sticker in the trunk for the color...be happy to decode it for you.

Not a turbo (sadly). It's actually an S2..well, an 83...well, it's complicated. It's an 83 with S2 motor and styling. Are 15" PDs unusual on those? The suspension has been quite bastardized, 928S4 brakes, and spindles from something...not a turbo though, as the bearings are larger on mine than on a turbo. Pretty beefy. Looked at the paint code, I think it's LY8V. Does that make sense? Maybe the 8V is for eight valves and I was reading it wrong. Below that it was just three digit options codes tho..

Whoa, so 15 inch PDs can fit over the S4 brakes? I assume this means 15 inch PDs can fit over the 951 brakes as well? Is this the case for all 15 inch PDs or just the 87+ offset style?

Thanks!

I think we pretty much covered this over on Pelican (remember that thread?). Those are not S4 brakes on your car. They are 951 brake calipers and rotors. Thus, the early offset 15" phone dials with the 951 part#'s on them will fit over the calipers.
