Default Sold my S2 Cabrio and bought this

Well, I sold my 1991 S2 Cabriolet and I replaced it with this.
My New Car

I realize this makes me a traitor to the marque but man...torque is addictive. The Z06 weighs the same as my S2 cab with almost twice the HP and over twice the torque. I was also pleasantly surprised by its handling characteristics and ride quality. Its not as stiff as my S2.

At least my S2 went to a good home. Good luck guys. I probably won't be on this bbs very often anymore. Maybe I'll buy another Porsche after I get tired of the Z06.
Happy Holidays and thanks for all of the help over the last 4 years.

I'd take an S2 Cab ANY day over a 'vette. I do like Corvettes, but the S2 is a way classier car, IMO. My next P-car purchase will likely be an S2 cab or a 968 cab or POSSIBLY a Boxter convertable if funds permit - of course any purchase is at least a couple of years away. . .

I got a ride in a friend of my fathers same year, same color Z06. Hes going through his midlife crisis. The car is great, a nice ride and awsome power. It felt like it handled very well from the passenger seat. I cant blame you for making the switch!

There is a black one in my area. Aftermarket exhaust and who knows what else. Its ungodly loud though. I was following him down a two lane street, my windows up and he was about 50-75 feet ahead of me. And it was LOUD! You could probably here it coming at WOT from a mile away! Truley an awsome sound...

ECUdooberhead, I'll give you $5000 for it =)

I'm a big fan of corvette's. I took a ride in a rather heavily modified Z06, it was making around 650hp. It was just insane, I could barely breathe under hard acceleration, it beat every porsche on the track, and there were some mighty quick 996's there that day.

MadMax,
Traditionally, I have never been a fan of Vettes but after having driven a couple of Z06's on the track, I became convinced. I will always be a Porsche guy and hope I always have at least one in my life but the Corvette (C5 & C6) has got to be one of the best values out there. Can't believe GM did something right.

Good luck and happy motoring.

I'm digging the 350hp in my 04 GTO, what an awesome daily driver. Real balance. When my GTO lease is up, if the buyout isnt dirt cheap, I will probably cruise the classifieds for a 05 with the Z06 motor.

Anyone want to buy the famous "rennlist mullet" 93 Z28 six speed with 41k miles?

Enjoy the Z06. The guy I bought my Z28 from did all the suspension work on the Z28 to make it into a vette, then finally broke down and got himslelf a yellow Z06! Beautiful car.

As an aside, there is a guy on one of the forums that is in the process of trading his Z16 in for a GTO (bad back he says). If interested he is in TX (i think Dallas) PM me and I will get you his info.

Thanks for the words of support guys. Lutjen, yes, Leo seems like a really awesome guy. He even gave me his cell number so we could discuss any issues that might have arisen over last Sunday. He has been absolutely professional and very accomodating to help close the deal. I fly out to pick the car up tonight. I get her in the morning. Wooohooo! Man, is this going to be a fun drive. The car already has the K40 "stealth install" and I will have my V1 with me. If I get a ticket I will definitely have it coming.

Default You'll be back to Porsches one day

I owned a brand new 1989 Corvette at the same time as my 1987 951. While the Corvette, did have nice torque, its build quality was poor. But worse for me, driving the Corvette left me emotionally cold. I finally sold it when I realized the only pleasure I derived from the car was gazing at its beauty as I walked by it in the garage.

Good luck. God Bless. May be you are different. My brother is. He owns 2 very low mileage Corvettes, a 1990 and a 1998.

928S4's dont even compare. They are ungodly heavy and slow, and when they break, they cost twice as much as our 944's to fix. Plus, they're old technology. If the C5 corvette had better interior build quality, and not htat Fisher Price interior, I would own one.
