It's only water. Now driving through salted roads, that's a different story.

Send some of that snow up here, we need the moisture. We hardly have any.

Less than week after I picked up the GTO we got our first snow. I hadn't swapped the snow tires with the Z28 yet. I had to take the old Z28 (which I own and just took collision off of) to the train and leave the new leased car in the driveway.

The S2 is quietly resting in the garage waiting for a clear day to exercise its SP8000s.

Mine is sitting in the garage laughing at the snow right now.
I got to drive 13 miles on a sheet of ice today. memphis doesn't have all the salt and gravel that the northern cities do!

When I bought my Porsche, I took the next day off of work because I knew I'd want to play with the car. It snowed.

But now I want snow. I've got snow tires for the Miata and I'm itching to make some SUVs look silly.

Oh well, I'll post this little Porsche/snow picture, which always seems to warm the hearts of us 924/944/968 guys...

BB.

Forgive me please, I'm a little slaphappy right now.

Tried to make it to SE Kentucky yesterday/last nite (for a funeral in the family today). Five hours to get from Middletown to Cincy (35 mi.). Another four hours to get to Florence KY (30 mi.). Decide to give up and get a room, but all of N. Kentucky has no vacancies. Found a Waffle House parking lot with an Irish pub across the street. Pub was open, drank Killian's Red draught until close, ate, slept in the van 'til about 0730, made a bonzai dash to get home before the hard freeze tonite. I-75 was horrendous, but the "soccer mom" van performed flawlessly and got me home (about 85 mi. total) a few minutes ago. Had to hastily shovel a spot to make it in the driveway. And what do I do first?..........Check in on Rennlist, what else? I must be nuts.....but aren't we all?

Man what an adventure, had a blast!!! Let's do it again!

Up here in Milwaukee, it's really, really cold (9), but very sunny. I'm jealous of all that nice snow for Christmas!

Edit: Just read Wade's post. Much as I love snow, I recognize it can cause big hassles. Sorry about the loss in your family, Wade. Hope your family can find some comfort in the holidays. Eric

It's funny that this amount of "white stuff" is called snow in Texas, :-)

Besides, 944 handles in slippery conditions quite well if you put snow tires.

I drove mine to work today and then they closed. We only had 8 inches and some wind. It's about 25 miles each way, and it was slowed by traffic in front of me.

Everything is under 2 inches of solid ice now. The sleet from yesterday is now melting and re-freezing as the temp is only 26. I'm going to have a fun 13 miles home - my guess is around 50 min.

I was told that i-65 north/south, towards louisville has been shut down for so long due to jack-knifed semis that all the cars are running out of gas and the national guard will have to go in and clean it up.

Anybody confirm that?

The saddest part of that photo is the fact that the car cant be driven. Luckily, snow melts!
I'd trade tons of snow for a car that'll start any day!
We could just swap DMEs to keep it simple. Any takers?

OK, another day down and still haven't had to push the daily car yet. As soon as the sun went down the roads started to ice over. I thought FWD and 4WD was better in snow? I have a tow strap and offered to help pull out 3 FWD cars and a 4wd Bronco with no takers. I was really hoping to be able to run back here and laugh about pulling a 4WDtruck out with a 944, lol. Oh well.

I had to help get a friend out of his driveway, he sent me this picture with a big HELP included. I had to ram the car into the driveway (snowplows made a 3 foot wall) then dig the car back out with the snowblower. I kind of like the look the snow gave to the neon.
