Default Porsche/Snow...do not mix

Have you ever seen anything more depressing than a newly purchased Porsche(4 days ) , with temp tags, sent to live out doors, with a foot of snow on her, unable to get out of the driveway???

man I was bracing myself to see a wrecked car. Think about it this way, it could always be worse.

I picked up my turbo from the rail yard in February a couple years ago. In Edmonton winter on Kumho 712s I barely made it on to a road. Mine also came covered in snow... guess that's what we get for buying a car in the winter.

I was expecting to see a brand new 997 wrapped around a tree or something!

The saddest part of that photo is the fact that the car cant be driven. Luckily, snow melts!

Snow is easy to remove, and you can always get snow tires, so smile!

lol, 21 miles in a little over 2 and a half miles on the way home from work today. 30% tread left on my Michelins, lowered and way out of alignment, yeah it was a fun drive. We'll see if I make it to work tomorrow. I was actually doing ok umtill the snow was deeper than my ground clearance and bottoming. I had to clear the front valance twice, packed with snow and started running a little hot. I seem to be a bit late in finding a set of the cable chains for the tires, I would be golden then, lol.

The smiles and nods you get when passing stuck cars and semi trucks in a performance car. I wish I had a digital camera, the daily car looks like a friggin Snow Cat. Wish me luck tomorrow.

Meh.

My previous 924S lived outside. Hell, I had it at my university apartment where it was street-parked all winter in Pittsburgh.

They're exceptional cars, but they're still cars. And one of the best things about the 944/924S is that they are not nearly as picky as other "exotics". Sure, they need more dilligent maintenance, but they don't have any real bad habits.

I just took mine for a drive in the snow last night, Nokian tyres are absolutely sweet.

I only drove mine through one winter, but the car didn't seem to mind.

From a few years ago...

Taken at 6 am. The roads are closed here.
Ok here's the pics of the 18" or so we got. 3" on top is frozen rain/sleet/ crusty snow.
Enjoy!!
