Here is the reply I received from the seller when asking if the price was negotiable and if I could come look at it...

I have all receipts showing something north of $80K (including the car). The Motec system alone is ~$10K. A car with such low miles is ~$20K. A turbo engine of this caliber you can't get cheaper than ~$25K from any of the Porsche builders. I started the bidding at $45K. If you are serious, you can definitely come up an check it out. But, my reserve is at $50K.

I have a car like that, in my dreams.

Here is a low mileage, 48k, on craigslist. I thought it was a bit high but is a nice car as well.

David, if I had a few extra thousand dollars, say 50,000 of them, in the bank, this car would definitely be joining the fold.

Porschfig, I agree with you about the gaping hole for the intercooler. Other than that, I am enthralled! Notwithstanding the intercooler crater, I hope that my humble 968 n/a () will one day be in the league of this extraordinary machine! It's always nice to dream of future projects...

But how often do you see a 968 of this caliber? A new Vette or modified STI just doesn't have the same exclusivity as the Porsche.

I agree with Mike Buck and Jonathan, this is an awesome machine with some very high end modifications done to it. It will take some time to sell at that price, but once the right buyer sees the car, the car will sell. Like everyone always says its all about finding the right buyer.

It sure reads like a laundry list of all the dream mods I would make to my 968 (if I had one).

Very nice car but just another case of some poor fool who thinks he can make back all the money he has poured into a car...

I just saw this post of yours and wanted to thank you! I'm flattered!

I feel very blessed to be able to have each of these machines and to be able to pursue this passion of mine. I thoroughly enjoy the 944 line, but that goes without saying.

Allow me to point out that I don't actually own "five," however. I sold the Amazon Green 968 to my father last summer, but I still have driving privileges. Actually, my dad and I have been talking about my buying it back from him sometime soon.

Take care, and keep those "dreams" alive. If I can ever help you to make those dreams become reality, let me know.
