DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!! They will not give you power gains on your NA with the exception of the FR WIlks chip that you will notice a difference in acceleration, but no really big HP #s there either (definitely the way to go). EBAY CHIPS ARE JUNK (J-U-N-K) This also goes for intakes, mufflers, etc found on ebay also. Alot of times these performance chips on ebay are simply little soleniods that you wire up to your 02 sensor that freak the ECU out into running richer. Thats not a good idea.

In other Words get the wilk chip.

good luck,
Nathan
Also what the hell have you done to get 163hp?

I know what chips do on a Turbo, but on a n/a they are completly diffrent Mostl likely changes things such as timing/fuel ect. I would highly suggest looking at FR Wilks website or Pm'ing Rock here. He used to have a FRWilk chip in his na.

Nabeel had chips in his n/a. I rode in it at the fest in 2004, I could tell immediatly he had done something to it. I would like one after my engine rebuild.

The euro cars were rated at 163 hp( I'll assume that's what he's refering to).
Different pistons were the big thing, gave a healthy bump in compression. Come to think of it, it might not be wise to use a chip that advances the timing on a car with the extra compression. Looks like I should dig out my stock chip and put it back in since I have euro pistons and a shaved head!

Hey Sizzle Chest! Quit asking the same question over& over again. You've been given the answer-maybe you should write it down so you don't forget it (again).Wilk Chip for the N/A Period! Otherwise shut up & buy an 85 IROC-Z.

Chips effect timing (advancing it) and fuel, on Turbo models it is more effective since the turbocharger would be spooling/running faster/harder due to exhaust gases (faster) and more fuel (burning power, in general).

Yes, i put the same chip in my car as Pete had done in his. There was a difference on the S2 immediately. I don't know how much of what has been done, but timing feels like it has been advanced. The car gained a "meaner" rev sound as well. (timing again?) It feels like it starts to decelerates sooner when the gas is let up and it smoothened out and shudder.

Then again, ive heard that the chip is a copy or, in close resemblence to the chip Porsche put in their CS cars. So far nothing negative. I wouldn't spend $400 on one. I wouldn't see it worth it for the change. I will do a dyno later this year.

Get a chip on your N/A that retards timing (4 degrees) after 3000rpm and Run a colder plug. Then add a 75shot of N20 and be very close in performance to a bone stock 951 if not faster.

Forever the internals can handle that kind of power without blinking an eye.

Sucka, i shoot NOS all day! My N/A makes 800hp on bone stock internals! Well almost stock! I got a super-HP-inator off ebay for $35. Plug the two wires to my battery, shoot my NOS, and im a getting 5 second quarter mile! At least it feels like that. Havent gotten to go smoke anyone at the drag yet.
