Default Pics of phone dials

I'm getting ready to repaint my extra set of phone dials. I'm curious to see all the different color combinations of phone dials we have here. I was thinking about painting them black but leaving the lip silver.

Do you have any other pics of those cookie cutters in your avatar?

Yeah I sure do.

The second pic is from before I painted the center cap.

And yes I know the center cap isn't pointing to the valve stem. I have repositioned them since taking the picture...

Mike those look really good. As far as a procedure, what did you do? I have stripped mine using aircraft stripper and now I'm in the process of sanding and smoothing with steel wool. Also, what kind of paint did you use?

Anyone have pics of black phonies on their car?

Cool, I was debating on doing something with my old cookie cutters, I just love my BBS wheels too much. I don't have any black on black, but here's rock's car.

I found it's best to polish the aluminum, wipe the whole wheel down with alcohol, mask off the polished bits and paint away. I used a wurth gloss black.

Default Traditional look

I refinished in bright silver metalic, black lug nuts with black highlights on the center caps.

Quick, cheap and easy!

Changed the coloring of the cap to original black layout, this was a prototype.

Scott Harvey's Kalihari Beige '85.5 looked particularly menacing at 944Fest with its all-black painted phone dials

For a street car I think factory silver is the most tasteful.

That being said, for race/autox/DE wheels I like white....................and............prepares for flames.........................ORANGE!

I forgot to mention that these phone dials will be used for autox. The cookie cutters are being used for street.

I outlined mine with a black paint marker. I believe that is the easiest possible way to do it.
