Would a dealer be able to tell me if I have recalls on an 86?
I have a 1986 951 and would like to know if I have any open recalls. Is this car too old or will a dealer still be able to tell me if the fuel recall has been taken care of, if indeed my car has been recalled?

Anyone can see open recalls here, I guess the real questions is did the PO have it fixed.

Any dealer or PCNA should be able to tell you if you have the VIN. You don't need proof of ownership as they want prospective buyers to know about the car's history. And why not, seems like a pretty good idea. Those recalls, especially the fuel, were taken pretty seriously. Think how a USA jury would think about someone burning alive in their Porsche and what the resulting damage award would be.
Porsche even went so far on documenting our cars that there was an internal memo to the dealers to record our cars that were running 18"+ wheels. The dealer is supposed to tell you to take them off and then document in the monster data base and you are on the $hit list if your suspension ever fails.
