Default Check out this rare color 968

It's not my car and i'm not affiliated with the seller, just saw it for sale. I've never seen a 968 in this color. From the pics it looks original.

It's not really my thing, but it is definitely unique in the Porsche world, a nice change from the common black/red/silver/white. It kind of reminds me of the Accord color "pea green metallic" in the same vintage.

Wimbledon Metallic Green

6-speed? is that normal for the 968?

color looks cool, I think...prolly looks different on each computer screen, though!

I seem to recall a WG M030 968 for sale in MI or OH almost 2 years ago. May be the same one. Wasn't my choice for color in a 968, but quite unique.

We had a Wimbledon Green car at Hershey a couple of years ago, a real head turner.

And 968's were the first production Porsche to have a 6 speed.

15k? Doesn't that seem low or do they all go for that price range with a sport package and 6-speed?

Ben, that is the same color as the 968 that was for sale at the Parts Haven swap meet a 1 + years ago. there was another one in Craigslist a few weeks ago. 200k + miles and they wanted 9k for it. I like that color. In person it looks more blue.

$15k is an amazing price for an M030 968. There is not many of those around. One sold around here recently for $22k. I thought every M030 had sport seats, though. . . Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, but, it's not very well-thought-out, gearing-wise... The top couple gears are ridiculously short- 6th gear in a 968 is actually shorter than 5th in a 951. 968 redlines are in the area of: 1 - 40, 2 - 63, 3 - 87, 4 - 114, 5 - 135, 6 - 156... 951 redlines are: 1 - 40, 2 - 67, 3 - 99, 4 - 134, 5 - 167... I've always wondered why they did that...? A 6-sp is really supposed to give the best of both worlds- slightly shorter gearing w/a slightly taller top gear... Oh well... the 968 did have a stronger transaxle, &, custom gears are only $900-ea... let's see, 3 - 6 would be $3600...
