Default Original owner turns into bizzach.

Awhile back, I contacted the original owner of my car. What a nice lady, or so I thought.
She seemed to care about the car, seemed perfectly willing to send me the maintenance papers that she kept, and all that stuff. Said she'd get right on it, she'd be happy to.
I waited. And waited.

I called her the other day, and she told me "I thought you'd get the hint after I didn't send it, that I don't want you to have it"
What a dissapointment.

You'd think that if she didn't want to actually send you the stuff, she wouldn't have offered. Some people clearly need to stay away from the cheap crack.

ummm, crack is evil. That just doesn't make sense. 1) Why would she say she'd send you the papers if she had no intention, she could have just said no. 2) Why the hell won't she give you the paperwork. She doesn't need it, and you would like the information.

Perhaps there were some issues with the car that she would prefer you did not know about. She might think you're trying to build some sort of "case" against her and attempt to force her to take back the car? Just a thought.

I'm going to geuss theres information on there she would rather him not have, like address, name and such... That would be logical.
Either way, should could have explianed it.
Also, i don't think this is the person he bought the car from, i think its the origional owner from the 80's.

Tell her you found some personal effects of hers in the car but I guess she doesn't want those back either.

No, no... I'm the third owner of this car. I bought it from a dealership. Car came with original Owner's and Service Manuals. Original owner's name and previous address were written in it, as well as first delivery date, etc.
I did a long search to find her, and eventually found her in Portland. Gave her a call, and she seemed delighted to learn that someone was taking care of it, said she still had all the paperwork, and said she'd be happy to send them.

Today, she mentioned that she feels she didn't get enough for the car when she traded it in on a Saab.

As for why she'd say that and then go against her word...well...she's a government employee. I think that explains it.

OT but maybe worth a laugh. Not long after I bought my '87 I braked very hard with my wife on board. Out from under her seat comes a picture of a young girl in a bathing suit. She looks at the picture and says "who is this". Of couse I had no idea. It was a little quiet for the next few miles.

Maybe Wolfe could say he found some pictures under the seat??? How about a trade?

Lou
