Default Why wasn't I told

i popped into the local Kia dealership today to say g'day to the salesman who sold my wife and daughter their cars (sad isnt it? Having two Kias in the family!) and to do some business with a new product that you will all find out about when I get the OK from Rennlist HQ.
Anyway, one of the salesmen is admiring a very shiny 944 and mentions that a month or two ago he missed out on a 85 or 86? 968 because he couldn't raise the cash.
Why wasn't I told!!!!!! It was going in a private sale for $8k. It is now sitting in a local 2nd hand yard for $22.5k!
I have no idea what I would have done with it or where I would have garaged it, and, I would have gotten an immediate divorce (hmmmmm!) but - geez I'm cheesed off now that I missed out.

The 968 wasn't manufactured in 85 or 86. Look about 6 years further into the future. He is either mis-informed or lying. Or both. My vote is for both based upon his profession.

Ditton on the first part, although I dont know if he is lying. He must have meant 944, but very few 944s are going in the 20Ks.

The 968 was only produced from 92-95.

Yeah, maybe the "lying" thing was a bit harsh, sorry 'bout that. I had a run-in with a car salesman last weekend that hacked me off and obviously there are some residual feelings. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and go with "misinformed".

Hey, I wasnt offended at the lying part. After all, car salesmen are the most hated people in the country, there has got to be a reason for that

I think the correct order (from bottom to top) is:

politicians
insurance adjusters
"outsource" consultants
car salesmen
bankers/finance guys
hit men/gangsters
bacteria that lives off of eating whale dung on the bottom of the ocean
etc. . .

What's the difference between a used-car salesman and a catfish?

One's a bottom dwelling scum-sucker, and the other's a fish.

You also forgot about my job while in college...

"Hello this is Robert with Microsoft, I'm calling to speak with so-and-so about problems we've been able to help other ____ companies with."

OH, and one you may be more familiar with when I was with Verizon!!!

"Hello this is Robert from Verizon, your local telephone company. I'm calling to verify you are currently paying a monthly fee with another company's long distance service? I can switch you over to one of our long distance services with no monthly charge and 10 cents/min ok?"

Ahh telemarketing hurts my brain, but it pays well for a poor college student.

you got that half right - or half wrong.

it is your ex's divorce attorney that is on the bottom, your divorce attorney is on the top.
