Would it make me less of a man if I named my car "Bubba?"

FYI, That's not a female name, but rather an aicent Roman city in the middle east. On the other hand, Alexandra is a girls name!

I call mine "The Blue Porsche" my bother's 928 is "The Brown Porsche" and the 86.5 project 928 is the "The Ugly Brown One"

I don't beleive naming a car.....after all it's only a car. Save your best names for your kids. But make sure it's not Tinity, Crytal, or Mercedes.....

I've had a few "named" cars, but they have to earn it. When I bought my first '87 951, it was in CA and I had it "transported" to me. When they showed up to get it, the guy I bought it from called me and said it looked like the opening scene to the "Dukes of Hazzard" when they loaded it up, hence the name "Gen'l Lee". After I finally decided that it was a better parts car and I was going to replace it with a new 951, I intended to have the name (as well as a bunch of the go fast goodies) carry over to the new 951. Unfortunately, I wound up buying a "Union Blue" 951 out of a Yankee state, so it would have been a crime to name it the Gen'l Lee. A well known 'lister out of Atlanta was angling to buy the same car, since I "burned" him by buying it before he could get the deal done, I have named the new 951 the "Gen'l Sherman" (if you don't recognize the significance of the name, you needed to pay more attention in History class! lol).

Regards,

My friends named my car "The Hampster". Back when it was in really bad shape the joke was that it was powered by a hampster in a wheel...

Haha.

Argento. For "silver". As in "hi ho Silver, away" or in Gladiator, his horses name. Basically, my trusty steed. My brother named him.

Our Expedition is named "Sherman" as well Scott. But because it is a TANK.

My first car, an 1984 Chrystler New Yorker was "Hal" -- the car talked to you. If you don't recognize the significance of that name, you need to watch old science fiction movies!

My dad's Accord -- Bitchin' Betty -- or just "Betty" for short. It's got a Nav system and in a soft ladies voice, tells you where to go. Like in a fighter jet, when she softly yells "ALTITUDE ALTITUDE ALTITUDE!" My dad flew fighters.

My old 924S was just "Baby" or "My baby".

the 924S is named, "Ophelia" after the character in Shakespeare's Hamlet... you know, the crazy bitch who committed suicide?

she was named after she spun the #2 rod bearing...she earned that one.

This raises a good question: Are cars male or female?

I would like to think that mine is male, but considering how much I love it, it must be female. I guess I could love it like a brother, but right now I think even my wife is getting jealous.
