It's that time of the year again....What's your winter beater?
This is probably a repost of a repost of a repost, but it's something most people find interesting because there are lots of cool pictures to look at! Most 944/951 owners seem to daily drive or at least winter drive other cars because of the age of our series.
Last year it was a 1987 9000 Turbo and this year it was going to be my 1986 325e, but this popped up and i couldnt resist.
1994 Saab 9000 CSE
248,000 miles (!!!)
Runs great, new motor and rebuilt trans at 220k
working a/c
new brakes
COMFORTABLE
worn out shocks
no leaks
In the weeks since i purchased it I had to get a new rim, repaint the center caps, install new ball joints and swaybar bushings, wipers, wash the engine, rear tires, ect... The car actually has some wax on it now too.
I got the car for 1,000 (wow!) dollars from an attractive girl on campus after I left a note on the car when i saw it in a campus lot. She got a real kick out of the fact that I was driving a red turbo porsche, and I've gotten a non-sale related call or four back.
Anyone else?

Yes, it's a "boat tail." Doesn't have the point in the rear bumper like a '71. Still has the triangular rear window and about 8 feet of hood.

1995 Jeep Cherokee, 4x4 460,000 kms, still uses no oil. I love it. It's my work vehicle as I am an agronomist, bouncing over fields, etc. We have snowy winters here, got a foot of the white stuff 2 days ago. The 944 was bought as a tourer for my wife and me to drive across Canada to see the kids and going to the city on a nice summer's day. When it's not in for more repairs, that is.

Bought this last month - 1992 Audi 100S with 160,000 miles for $100.00 - yes, one hundred dollars:
It did need a transmission - found one for $400.

I have an '84 Ford F150 with original receipt and paperwork, with EVERY dealer towing option installed. Needs a paint job and a front end wobble fixed - but it will pull damn near anything!

My 1999 Dodge Durango <no regular cars hold all my family at once> has 140K miles and needs some work. No payments! But I think I have to give one of my kids to the local garage soon :-P. I don't think I would ever get rid of it though.
I had a 1984 Honda Accord and we now have a 1998 Accord. I really love those cars, they are solid!
