Default Iceshark light kit schematic??

I know this may be a little soon after the loss of our beloved Iceshark, but I was wondering if anyone had a schematic of what actually went into the kit? I have the resources and the time that I could possibly continue making them, but I would need to know what it would take..

To make the same quality kits, it would take more than time and money. It would take resources and contacts none of us have. I knew Dan fairly well, and he continously expressed how hard it was even for him, who had done accounting favors for these companies, to get them to run a production of terminal, etc. that isn't normally sold to people in quantities in less than 10,000. Please prove me wrong, but I do not believe a light or battery kit can be made to the same quality anymore.

well, thanks to his sister, Betsy, my neg cables are en route. I'll take a look at em, and dissect them the best I can, and see how they go... if I feel I can reproduce em, I'll do it.

If anyone has the means to continue his work I think it would be great way to honor what he did. Did he have any copyrights/patents on his stuff? You may want to check into that first.

As far as the contacts he had, if someone is truly interested in continuing his work I'd bet his family might help. I would also imagine the suppliers might help knowing that someone was continuing Dan's work.

I can build you a logo for branding his design.....
I would say talk to the family....then go from there. We have enough people on Rennlist here with enough contacts that I would think something could be done. Someone on here was selling a never used ground kit pretty affordable....MADMAX I think...

Unfortunately, I never dealt with Dan so I would feel somewhat strange contacting his family. I would gladly help build the kit, but...

Nothing really trick in the schematic. Just use sealed high amperage relays at each headlight to switch fused battery voltage directly rather than going through the light switch. Fine strand wires and soldered connectors. Insulate well. The existing current from the headlight switch is used to operate the relays -- high/low beams.

I just saw the before/after pictures of the lightkit. Wow, this kit is a MUST when I get a 944. The stock bulbs seem downright dangerous, Dan Wray really put together one hell of a kit!

Sadly, I never dealt with him, but it seems that whenever I read about someone who had dealt with him, they were full of praise and admiration.

I think he would be very honored if someone built this kit, and I know that I, and probably many other people, would be a lot safer if such a kit was still available. I know that I would buy one in a hurry.

I have a kit that I removed from my totaled 944. I'd be happy to take pictures and measure the harness.

I'm afraid that James is correct that the design is not the hard part. The parts that Dan used would be difficult or impossible to find.

83na944 is sending me the pics. I'm gonna see if there is a way to do it without the hard to find connectors and stuff. If there is then repoducing them shouldn't be a problem. I'll let you guys know..

As Chad posted, I did take some pictures.

I need to edit them and get them down to a manageable size. Hopefully they'll help document the headlight kit. I'm not very good with the digital camera, but I sketched a wiring diagram, measured the length of the wires, and noted part numbers where I could find them. I'll try to come up with a reasonable set of info. Perhaps this weekend, if possible.
