Arrow 944 Mechanic in San Diego

Have had bad experiences with "German motor" mechanics on my trip across country and I need some minor fixes done.

Does any one have a neat professional in the San Diego area alternatively San Fransisco, or L.A. -area to recommend.

Many thanks!!

Mike

I have used these guys in Rancho Bernardo right next to the 15 before, and I would recommend steering away from them.
Check the San Diego PCA site. That was recommended to me for shops that do quality work.

Are you still in DC ?? If so, go grab a burger at Archibalds on K street for Me

I need to change the radiator fan sensor. The fan turns on when the engine is cool...

Small job it seems, but I don't have the space or tools to do it since I am doing a cross country trip.

I tried a supposedly good mechanic in L.A. but had to run away when I realized the guy didn't even know he had to refill with phosphate free coolant!!

If you are up for a burger and some P-talk, let me know

Mike

Blackforest, Mind Over Motorsports, and Dieters are all good shops in SD familiar with 944's.

Sean Steele, the owner of Autobahn Dismantling in El Cajon, knows this car inside-out. Go see him - he'll fix your car so you can buy upgrade parts from him. They are the honest Porsche specialists, in San Diego. I dont even trust the local Porsche $tealer down there!

I've done that job on my own car. If you are in the LA area, I can do it for you.

Thumbs up on Black Forest (but IIRC they have long lead times on service appointments), thumbs down on Dieter's (where the service rep accused me of damaging the fuel lines that the mechanic just repaired, when I pointed out a problem before I left the shop with the car).

Is Sean Steele, the owner of Autobahn Dismantling in El Cajon, still the guy for 944s in San Diego. I just picked up a great 85 944 auto, non turbo for my father-in-law.

He loves to maintain his car continuously.

Thank you
Emerald

Before moving, I had been taking my car to Mark at Performance Porsche since 1997. He is located on Fairmount Ave. in the Mission Gorge area. I've never had any issues at all with his work and he's always been a reasonable guy.
