Default Got / installed my Redline (Hanjy) bar! Sorry no pics.

I picked up a "used" Redline bolt-in bar locally, painted (hammered gray/silver) it during the recent blizzard, and installed it yesterday. It is a truly impressive piece of work, and John H. deserves high praise. The materials are stout, workmanship is excellent, and it really does fit like a glove.

I paid a pretty penny for it (after a few fruitless years of waiting for a bargain). As long as John H. keeps raising his delivered prices for new ones, these things will hold value, and live on for as long as their are 944s doing track days! You can't really appreciate the value of the bar until you see how it's built and how it bolts in.

I look forward to getting much of my investment back when I sell it. Probably to someone here!

Very happy with mine also, have had two different ones (one went with my other car). I have been thinking about going with a more permenant weld in type setup, but always cringe at the price.. then remember i can atleast recoup some cost at selling the bar as there always seems to be a demand for them in the used market.

I thought about the weld-in one too. No doubt it offers more rollover protection because it's triangulated. Seems to me that if your "C" pillar collapses, the Redline bar may flop with it (since the bar is anchored to the C pillar. But most rolls are sideways, and in that context the Redline bar should distribute and bear the load.

And it's a great place to anchor harnesses and cameras.

I love mine as well.

Every now and then I contemplate selling it because I'm not really tracking my 944 anymore but I just can't bring myself to do it because I know I'll regret it!

It's an heirloom. Pass it on to your ancestors!

You might want to put some collars on the bar to keep the belts from sliding in an accident.

Wouldn't it be "descendants"?

Van's got a point...

The thing is that if I sell it, I'd go a long way towards seats/harnesses for the Chick Car. But still, I just can't do it...

I still have an available one... mint condition with one season of DE use. It is a very nice piece, I just moved up to a full cage for racing.
