Question engine swap

Im thinking real hard on yanking out this 2.5 and going to a small block chevy. Has anyone done this yet and where do I need to start looking for parts to do this project? Also what trans do I need to support this kind of torque? Do get me wrong I love my porsche but it seems every time I drive it something else happens or it wont start or it loves to die while driving it. I think a engine trans plant would be a lot easier to deal with. Plus I feel really stupid sitting in the middle of the road in a porsche when it throws one of its trantioms and wont start. Any suggestions?

If you are sitting on ten grand why not get a turbo or a 928 and spend the summer having fun instead of monkeying with your car?

I looked into it. It'd be fun to have a V8 in my cabrio. Sadly it's not clean enough a swap for me, is still pretty expensive, time consuming, and nets you a rolling project car. It does not seem like you get taxicab reliability from this swap.
