thats the one I got. Its larger and heavier than the one that was on the car, but it just barely fit on my 87 NA. I have doubts to it fitting the turbos though.

My large body starter fit my turbo, it's just tighter and the heat shield is very snug. I have a shot of it installed on the car someplace. That's a great price if it has the lifetime warranty to the original purchaser. At that price who cares if it fails in 2 years, just get a new one free.

I just wanted to say thanks for posting this. Had no problem fitting it on my 87 turbo. Free shipping to the house too! Haven't yet decided if I want to keep my original or not. Like Kuhl said, if it dies in two years, who cares, just get another one. Unlike alot of things, you don't have to disassemble half the car to install it!

Hi,

Does anyone have the Advance Auto Part number or for what car it goes on. Did they just looked it up for the porsche 944 or some other car?

All the ones that I found on their online store were around $150.00

thanks

The large one I posted above is an early car, the smaller one a turbo. Even Kragen does not differentiate part numbers between the two starters. You might request a small one but there is no way to tell by model year. IT all depends on what core they rebuild. Both will work just fine on either an NA or Turbo. The large ones are just tighter with the turbo heat shields.

That starter is still going strong on my 84 n/a I bought it for orginally.

I wish the later starter was nearly as cheap.. I'm having starter issues on my 951 now

edit: damn , went up $18 in 1 1/2 years !
