I think I need to come over Pete and assess this situation, drink beer, point to erroneous parts on your car and yell TIMMMMAY! for no valid reason.

Since no one else has mentioned this I will.
Advanced Auto Parts is NOT A GOOD PLACE to shop for belts and parts for a 20 YEAR OLD PORSCHE! There are tons of places online that are knowledgeable and that will sell you the correct part for your car. I suggest you use them.
Good luck.

It must be an odd thing with Accessory Belts. Everystore that sells belts for my Miata sells a different size. Not just slight differences, but very diverse sizes!
None of them know sizes either, so you can't just say you need a 14mm x 955mm or whatever, you have to compare it to your old one or get a measure out.

Since no one else has stated it I'll go ahead and highlight that Porsche lists two belts for the 944 series - one with A/C and one without.
From memory the one with AC is 6PK1000 but without it is 6PK870 (???). You probably got the belt for a car without A/C and that's why it won't fit.

I ended up spending $25 to get the right wiper blades at NAPA. It was pouring rain and I ask which wiper blades fit my car, mine are SHOT, I can't see a thing. They hand me a set, blades and blade arms, for like 15 bucks. I take them outside and try to put them on. they were wrong. Take them inside, i supposedly bent a clip on them so they refused the return. So I go outside and get the original wiper, and the guy looks at it, and goes and gets me a blade insert (because I only have $10 in cash left,) and hands me that. Well, guess what? It was an inch too short the shelf was mislabled. I returned that then finally got my wiper insert for the drivers side and left with a pair of blades i couldn't use.
