A couple of years ago, I paid $600 for a perfect pair -- I considered that a steal at the time. Techno Duck is looking to get a grand for his pair -- which I think is a little high, but would sell to the right buyer.
BTW, my seats are not tan -- but light beige, which is lighter than tan but darker than linen.

I thought that the seat mounting between early and late 944 was different so that the seats wouldn't be interchangable, or have I got that wrong?

The seat mountings are different. The later seat belts attach to the seat mount rather than the transmission tunnel. I don't know if tha seats are the same and could be attached to the appropriate mount. Plan ahead as stock seats even sport seats are not compatible with 4-6 point harness systems so if you are thinking of moving in that direction someday consider getting seats with appropriate slots.

To all of you talking about my asking price...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...08187582QQrdZ1 My pair are in similar shape with the exception of cracked piping on the drivers bolster. Whether or not the buyer actually comes through with paying is anyones guess though. Joseph is right.. if you keep your eyes open you might get lucky. I bought my set from someone in the classifieds about a year and a half ago.. i paid $300 for the pair.

I hope it hits a grand. I might have two more pairs to sell -- Jon, I'll wait until you sell your pair before I flood the market. ![]() FWIW, I think the key is to target the 911 crowd. They don't blink an eye to spend $1k on a $20k-$30k vehicle -- but for us to spend $1k on a $2k-$8k vehicle, it feel wrong. It's all relative....

Joe, i have someone locally in my PCA region that said he would buy the seats from me for his fathers 944 Turbo. He knows fully how much they do go for, told me his friend just bought a set recently for $1200.
I am still on the fence about selling them.. i love them so much and would hate to see them go. I would also NEVER be able to find them again for the price i bought them for. It was also quiet an adventure to get them. I had to pull some strings with my sister so i could borrow her Jeep and drive into the heart of the Bronx (only about 30 miles from me) in a pretty heavy snow storm to pick these things up. I also didnt eat anything for about a week until i got paid again .Shipping these things is also a real pain in the butt. I recently sold my stock seats for a whopping $300 to someone on the Pelican forums. Shipping cost was over $100 including the boxes and packing material i needed to get. I would image it would be another $20-30 to ship the sport seats because the seat backs cannot be sandwiched together in one U-Haul wadrobe box like the stock seat backs. The bolsters are to big. Weight really isnt the issue with shipping these things, the bases only weigh about 35lbs alone. The size of the boxes however is what kills the shipping price.

Hey Jon! I saw your other thread and I think we're in a similar situation. I'm thinking about selling my near-perfect sport seats to mount real racing seats (for my size --I need to test out Sparco Evo/Rev/Corsa or Recaro SPG). I'm also looking at Redline Rollbar and dumping my BK harness bar. The setup is so comfortable, but the car is spending more time on the track, and I'm starting to think more about safety.
The number one thing that prevents me from selling them is shipping -- it's going be a PITA.... That's why I still have my old pair.

Sorry, I don't have answers to either question, but I can tell you that I just bought a pair of momo rs2 gt seats, and I'll let you know how they work out when I get them installed

That's not including the price of brackets, which can run up as high as $200/side (although again, I got them on sale...I must admit, the timing of this project worked out quite well for me...) |
