ya, found that however I was talking about getting the 'valet mode' and 'dead mode' built into it. I'm going to log some times/hp for comparisons. I have a G-Tech, and BEFORE you laugh, know that I've made quite a few 1/4 mi runs (vette) with it, and on the strip and it's never been off more than .06 seconds of the actual time slip. That's 6/100's of a second. Plenty close enough.

I think the G-Tech are neat devices. They seem to work well once you get the hang of it. I'd like to see the results!

I'm curious, what is the ignition timing advance on your chip? I was the victim of a bad performance chip before that resulted in broken piston rings in all 4 cylinders. The chip's Ign. Adv. was 28 degrees!

Well, I'd just rather not say. I will say that 28 degrees is not really insane with high octane fuel, and I specify that you need to use 91 or greater on all my chips. I do however leave a safety margin. If you tell me your car is a race car running only 100 octane or better, it will be mapped quite a bit more aggressively.

Russell

91 is the max we can get in California and the seller had indicated that the ignition timing advance would be adequate to run that octane for the street.

I'm just making sure I won't have to do another rebuild if I get another chip and run it on 91 octane, like before..

I would do some dyno pulls for you but the cheapest dyno place around is $125. Plus my 944 is in the process of being rebuilt so it would be a chance for a nice "fresh" motor.

Might be worth emailing Russel at www.maxhpkit.com as he might not be looking at this forum during the holidays. Last time I emailed him, about four weeks ago, the project was still under development in final testing.

Good luck getting hold of him. He hasn't posted in weeks or responded to my emails? I think he might have moved. Hopefully all is well and it's not a health issue.

Hey Guys,

sorry for the delays, I am in the process of moving, and many other things going on. No, no health issues right now thank goodness. I think I'm done with all of that. Things will be normal once again after the first, I've been working on a lot of new projects, just not talking about them much. But everything is still moving forward.

Regards,
Russell
