Default Kricket Belt tension gauge

Has anyone used the Kricket Belt tension gauge on thier timing belt before? how does it work? its seems very inexpensive compared to the tool the porsche sells for $600.

Bought one, used it...stuck in a drawer in my tool box. 5 t-belts later it has not come out. The tension you need is right at the bottom of the scale for the krickit and it is difficult to get repeatable results with it. I've used my hands ever since and no problems (knock on wood)

ditto.

the krikit can be used for the internal belts and many do (i have too), but you are measuring at the low end of the tool's scale and this is not good for precision. if you are going to continue working on the 944 series, you're much better off getting the new series tension gauge tool from Bruce Arnn (Arnnworx).

I have found the krikit much more reliable for the external belts (PS & AC).

Different strokes for different folks! Ever hear this?

EXPERIENCE. YOURS. IS what will count. You can't get it from forums, but, understand why we all ask it.

Finesse, is another thought here. Good luck!!

Ken didn't we use it on my car? if so I actually though it was pretty cool. Speaking of which. Just a Question but after I re-did the head gasket and belts. 10K miles later I think the tech that did it didn't tension the A/C belt right because well I can turn the belt 180 degrees. But anyways For the Acc belts its not bad for the Bal. and T-belts use the 9201 or the Arnworks tool I perfer the 9201 myself
