Preventative maintenance - Im in pain.
Took the new to me rare red S2 in for its first dose of preventative maintenance.
I brought a new o2 sensor and cam tensioner pad courtesy of sunset for $140 with me along with an oil filter.
7qts mobil 1 at 8.50 each plus $15 labor for the oil change. Pretty good. Sure beats finding a place to legally dump the oil.
The O2 sensor took only an hour an a half because the downpipe had to be removed.... so only $105 labor and $15 in bolts and parts. Not bad on a 20deg day.
The $11 cam tensioner ramp took 2 hours $140 and the gasket was old so the shop got me a new one for a mere $95.
Oh the belts were tenisoned too. Only took an hour and a half of labor so that was only another $140. edit nobody caught the math error. should be $105.
Total for my preventative maintenance with parts $680. Tell me again why there is only one O in POORSCHE.

Humm.......learn the car, learn the mechanics..........or don't complain, and PAY the price. The SAME with ANY car........ain't it?
Sarcasim?...................now WHY........would you put THAT in your sig? I'll tell ya! Your not the type that will get his hands REALLY dirty........... do the REAL mechanics themselfs........right?
"Tell me again why there is only one O in POORSCHE"
SIMPLE! You don't/won't don't do the work yourself! For a car like this...........well........thats WHY there ARE so many "cheap" ones available. Thanks, by the way!
Sorry!..................I'm still learning about all you folks! AND.... myself here also!

i am not one to get my hands dirty when it is 20deg outside if it means crawling under the car to get to the O2 sensor when i could pay someone $105 to take apart the exhaust on his lift instead.
