Default FS: 1986 944 Turbo (951) - $5300 OBO (now in MN)

For Sale:

1986 Porsche 944 Turbo (951)

Reduced: $5300 OBO

UPDATE: Now Located in Minneapolis

Mileage: Estimated at approx 100-120k (Odometer gear stopped at ~77k miles, sometime between 1998 and 2003). (Email for more details and for a copy of the CarFax report showing mileage). Previous owner put less than 1k miles on it and I’ve put about 1500 miles on it.

Guards red on black interior
16” Fuchs wheels (option for ’86 951’s only)

This is not a cosmetically-perfect car, but it is A LOT of fun, pulls hard, and is mechanically in great condition.

Recent Service (within last 3k miles, have receipts for all parts):

New Tial 38mm wastegate with 0.8 spring
New Lindsey Manual Boost Controller (currently set at ~12 psi)
New belts
New rollers
New front end seals
New waterpump
ALL rubber coolant and vacuum hoses replaced (including turbo J-Boot)
Venturi delete (important for all 1986 951’s)

I've also added a boost gauge & AFM (not yet hooked up) in the cubby hole.

Paint is in pretty good condition: there is a small hole in the bumper where a previous own put in an antenna and someone polished the car a little too hard in a couple of areas.

Dash has cracks, driver’s seat could use a re-cover, and inner rubber shift boot should be replaced. Sunroof gears have been replaced recently but next owner should adjust the sunroof before using it. Speedometer cable is frayed a bit, but i'll include a new OEM replacement for the buyer.

Currently registered in California and passed smog within the last 6 months. Registration was only $57 including all taxes!

Several rennlisters are acquainted with this car and can back up the above. I'll be happy to assist any potential buyers in setting up a PPI, although you will have to pay for the PPI itself.

Car is located in Minneapolis, but i'm willing to ship it across the country.

Steve, you're selling the 'bo? You'll be Porscheless!

Yup, I was there when all the tb/wp/seals work was being done. That cam bolt was fun!

Yea... gotta keep at least one! Porsche-gods wouldn't allow it.

Plus -- you're thinking this backwards. You need a two car garage because you have two cars.

Or buy a carcover if the house is for sure yours.
However it is a crime against the Porsche gods to sell all pieces of the deutschkollection, punishable by beheading.

I wish my car was that shiny...

® Rolo 2004

Chris if you can sell your 924S before I move (3/16/07) and want to buy it, i'll be happy to sell it to you! But if I get another offer before then, i'll probably have to take that.

Rolo.. Amaf.. Juan951? sheesh. I wish I could remember the others as well. I've been around here for a LOOONG loong time.

Fair enough Steve. Probably a better maket in 'Frisco anyhow. Besides the transport would be a grand. Gorgeous opportunity for someone- Best of luck.

(Chris now prays and places local want ads for the 924S and hopes to sell to some unsuspecting teen)

Haha surprisingly the market isn't that great in San Francisco because there are 7 other 951's that have been posted to the local craigslist within the last few weeks! ARGH!

There are cheaper ways of transporting, by the way. I found a transportation co affiliated with ABF (which is what we're using to move our stuff across the country) which quoted us approx $480 to ship a car from San Fran to Minnneapolis. Of course that's for a non-enclosed trailer and don't guarantee top-shelf on the trailer. But that's ok since car isn't a cosmetically-perfect 951 anyway!
