And she is a fine steed...

Those 986S's are fine cars from the one's I've seen.

An E-brake that's actually in a useable position!

Why would anyone ever want to do a hill start with their hands on the wheel? Obviously, you need your left hand for the brake and the right hand so you can shift. I just use my face to steer until I get into second gear.

I did that a few days ago to avoid taking out the minivan that parked 6 inches behind me on an uphill slope..

Are your cars not able to stay in first gear on their own?

In order to avoid taking out the minivan 6" behind me, I turned the wheels all the way towards the middle of the street (no PS X_X), put the car in 1st gear, held the e-brake up with my thumb on the button, gave it gas, let the clutch out a little until the car started to dive a bit, then slowly let the brake off and gave it more gas and craaawwwwlllleeeddd away so as not to kill the Toyota parked in front of me. I might have had a few inches between the corner of the 944 and the Camry.
