  • If you think that $50 for an new distributor rotor is a good deal . . . . (Actually parts in general)
  • If you are surprised that not all cars have nuteral handling . . . (they should but don't)
  • If you are always looking for twisty bits of road or hiway on and off ramps to drive fast on ('cause off the line ain't all that hot)
  • You don't mind sweating with the AC on full (summer), or freezing with the heat on full (winter)
  • $50 for 7 quarts of Mobil-1 for an oil change seems reasonable
  • You put less than 10K miles on the car each year, and you are OK with that
  • You can only legally approach your car's limits on a road racing track
  • You're wrenching on your car, and you are developing another join between your wrist and elbow to get at some of the bolts

if you added up all of the quarters you find under the seats, you'd still have more than you have in the bank..

if a full tank of gas means somewhere between a half tank and 3/4 and everywhere in between..

if you dream about timing belts and clutch jobs, and new tires..

if you spend between $500-1000 on "routine maintenance"

your neighbor is proud that he changed his own oil, meanwhile your sitting in your garage rebuilding your engine..

you have the local tow truck company on speed dial

there's something routine about how you handle car fires..

rennlist is in your bookmarks, along with clarks garage, an internet auto parts warehouse, and the website belonging to your local porsche shop.

if you wake up at 11 at night and take your car out for a drive, just because..

You buy a 944 turbo thats even more of a money bucket than the 944 before but you love the handling and just needed more power. You drive it for a half a year thinking its fast and then find out its running on less than half boost.

You want to pay a shop for 20+ hours of labor for a clutch.

BLAH what am I saying, I come on this forum because I love this car.

if maintaining your car means living in your parent's basement another few years...

if you're willing to drive across country for 3 days to get to a 2 day 944 party.... and then 3 days back...

if getting to said 944 party requires you to buy a new set of tires, a new cam tower gasket, do a belt job, an oil change and an alignment, leaving you praying that you can fork up the cash for gas to get there...

if you have 2, and have difficulty deciding which one to drive to work...

Any towncop close enough to see the "PORSCHE" decal decides its a good time to get on your *** for the next 5 miles thinking you're going to "slip up" eventually.

Hey now, both work extremely well right now... except the 924S leaks more than the Exxon Valdez, and the 951S has a small oil leak... they're leaky but both work!
