Premium or regular?
So which should I be filling my 83 944 with? I recently filled it with some regular and I have been experiencing small problems with starting it. It just takes longer to start but still starts. Not sure if its related or not.
TIA,
Alex

Regular is all your NA needs and mine always ran fine. Premium is a must for any 951 and even then there are times I blend up a witches brew for special use where 91 won't cut it.

I've always used regular with no problems whatsoever. When I recently did a head gasket (after 175,000 miles), the valves had not a spec of crud on the port side, clean & shiny. It's really wasting your money to put higher octane in there for a stock NA.

I used to put in premium when i didn't know that the German octane ratings are different than American. The only benefit i noticed when i used premium was slightly better fuel economy. however, that could be something with my car too...
But in an NA, Regular is completely fine

I swear my car ran better when I put premium plus fuel in it from husky with 10 percent ethanol mixture (husky uses a 10 percent mixture).
regular here is 87 octane I think plus is 89 premium plus is 92?

94 in a n/a? Wow.
I've used 91 and 87... and I personally find no difference except for what I'm paying. The higher grades are supposed to need a higher temp. to ignite, thus protecting from pre-detonation on higher performance cars. At least thats what a 911 guy told me. If I get a 951 I'll definetly use higher grade though.
