I am going to try and plan a drive in the Asheville-Hendersonville area, planned for Oct. 13 or posibly Oct.20. My plan is to meet everyone at our house in the morning and go for a long drive on some fun mountain passes. I would like to meet back at our house after the drive and then do a little cook out and time to hang out and maybe a tech topic. Anyways let me know if you are interested.

I got your VM today - we headed out to the Greek Festival in Charlotte this evening. Lots of good food there.

Becca and I might make it the weekend of the 20th. There is a PCA autocross in Greensboro the 13th.

Fall tour is the 27-28th.

We might decide to go to the cabin @ Powderhorn after the drive on the 20th, if that is the date.

As an aside, we are having a GTG in Pilot Mountain Saturday, Sept 15th. 30+ RSVPs already in. We can add some more BBQ to the grill if anyone interested.

I would love to be there!!! Took that drive this spring the Bimmer and had a blast!! I should have all my "just-got-the-car-running-again" gremlins figured out by then. I'm about 2 or so hours from Ashville, just make sure you repost this when the date gets nearer!

Ok, went out for a drive today to figure out the route. I now have a few questions for those of you wanting to come. First, how long of a drive do you want to do? I was thinking 2-3 hrs, I am open. I found a fun route up to Lake Lure and then out to Black Mountain, but again I am open. I am also wondering how chalenging do you guys want the rodes, there are all sorts of varieties up here? I am aiming for somewhat chalenging, but able to keep a nice clip. Final qestion is do any of you know a place to look for in depth maps for this area or a place to find roads? I have found a great half a drive about 1.5 hours but I am wanting it to be a bit longer and a little more fun at parts.
