With your set up were you able to keep the A/C or did you have to Delete it? DO you think something similar could work on an '88 with Higher comprssion? Also if you do not mind me asking how much did your setup cost?

maybe this is crazy talk, but what about a casting for the mamifold rather than welded? sharky, you could probably machine the core out of just about anything (wood even?)

We do a lot of analysis here (FEA) and I know our FEA geek would love to do a CFD (computational fluid dynamics) analysis of a manifold. Anyone have one modeled up in 3D?

This is very helpful. Does any one know of a kit that is already put together or is most of this set up going to be hand made?

Here is a photo you guys may be interested in. It is from someone (Dally DE)I am working with 1/2 way around the world that is getting close to completion... far more refined than my setup. He has been folowing very closely what I have said through email and he has a pretty good handle on it right now.

He has rebuilt the engine and has ran the 36# injectors NA (unblown) like I asked him to do and has reported all the EGT readings to me and it has really started off good so far he has driven it for a few months now using the bigger injectors and playing with the FQS .

Yes I kept the AC I actually use it to tension the belt still. I did have to get a longer turnbuckle though but that is jsut belt length

If you look upthread I have a total of around 850-100 in the whole setup even now. about 2200 in the whole car.

I just realized I should have said that he broke the engine in and drove it then started ont the s/c (we had spoken through email at length long before the engine rebuild too).

That picture is very similiar to what I had imagined for mine - except I am not using the AFM, since I have the piggyback computer I will be using a Ford MAF. I just have to install the wideband 02 sensor to tune it, I will get the MAF working before adding boost.

right. I got that.

But, you're a machinist, right? Casting requires a core and cavity. The core is the actual 'model' of the part (the part you would machine - no welding). Often, the core is made of wood, but it can also be made of aluminum, in halves. The cavity is filled with sand and the core is pressed into it, core removed and molten metal is poured into the dpression left behind. I'm assuming you probably know all this.

We have a lot of customers who do this sort of work. I don't know if it requires a high volume in order to be cost effective. My guess is that it does.

It was just a thought.

I am not a big believer in Dyno posting myself b/c of so many variables.

Using the method I used in drag racing for years (1/4 mph sliderule) accurate to an engine brake dyno. It made about 220-230 rwhp @ 12 psi w/o IC

I don't know now

I am going to keep it around 6-8psi and will be happy if I get close to 200hp. Basically I want the power of an S2 engine out of my current one. Plus, I enjoy fabbing stuff - should be fun.

$850-$1000.. and that's pretty much the basic for a supercharged 944.

Now I want to find a cheap n/a around here and get on the bandwagon...
