All depends on who you know and what you want to spend. Most people who do custom triggering wheels do them on the front crank pulley, they are smaller and easier to work with and they are much easier to access. What system are you looking at installing?

dang I was sleepy last night... I ment to say flywheel ring but you understood anyways. thanks I'm dumb. I'm thinking of individual cylinder control with four mega squirt units.

Why do 4 units? Each unit has 2 injector drivers so bare minimum each unit can control 2 injectors and there is some documentation out there on how to modify the unit to add in more injector drivers. Which ignition system are you going with, Ford or GM? That would help a lot in determining what kind of triggering you'll need.

well I'm not writing anything in stone, or even on paper (just thinking out loud) yet but I was thinking of individual cylinder lambda and egt sensors as well as COP.
why?
I'd like to think there are others like me who are trying to push the tech, just to push the tech and see what happens. Imagine the same idea moved to a V8 and homebrew MDS might be possible.
