stock for stock or equal-dollar modified (say, $5000 into each) the 951S should win every single time.

Even a standard 951 should give the S2K a very good run, and a 968 should be able to kill it.

Pontiac Fiero owners claim the V6 5-Speed Fieros are as fast as mid 6s in the 0-60. Reality claims the V6 5-Speed Fieros are as quick as high 7s.

Lets remember that a 6.2 from Car & Driver is ideal conditions, with a professional driver that knows at exactly what point to slip the clutch and at exactly what rpm will yield the best result.

The kid on the S2000 message board is probably no where near as experienced as Shadda Chabba or however you prounounce / spell that weirdo's name.

Yeah, it's an utter feat when one Honda powered Indy Car beats another Honda powered Indy Car.

Hahah... yeah...

And then there's that fat asian guy who always test drives the American cars. Csere hates the American cars, so his nimble frame always tests the imports and they make the fat guy drive the American cars.

I think the 968 would be way more interesting since they are at least both n/a 4 bangers....are we still just talking about straight line speed? boring!

AAAAw c'mon...
Not boring!
Road corse in a 944 is boring because that's the forte of the car.
Getting a 944 to go fast straight ain't so easy.

I think I may have found out why you're getting shagged by S2000 drivers. After closer inspection of your rear bumper with my proprietary imaging software, I noticed this:

Must be bouncing off the limiter in every gear to get those times...

the fact of the matter is that a 951 is hands down a better car. Its better looking, more powerful, and can actually be useful around town without blipping the throttle high enough to scare children away.
