Why do S2000's keep racing me? (or what should I replace my 951 with?)

Is the S2k head similar to the new K20 heads? The jdm to be exact. Some guy I know 'money shifted' at gingerman (stock redline at 9k) he hit 11k + and even with upgraded springs he def was paying for that shift.

the fact of the matter is that a 951 is hands down a better car. Its better looking, more powerful, and can actually be useful around town without blipping the throttle high enough to scare children away.
Say what you want or what you think. I really dont want to go on about Honda on this board - But, anyone who owns this car loves how pure the concept is and the commitment Honda made to squeeze eveything it could out of it. Doing more with less - I think that is the Porsche way, or the way it once was.
This is prob a bit out of date but is worth a read:

ps- If Porsche would have made this car you would all be leghumping it.

Seems like a lot of people here hate the car. It's a quick car, pretty good looking, not too expensive... Personally I wouldn't buy one. Sorry, but that "H" doesn't really arouse any passion for me.

Well I guess because 944 Turbos are the best thing made, I'd like to sell mine right now for the highest bidder. Which should be a lot considering, you know, what kind of car it is (the best). I'd take an S2k over my 944 Turbo actually as my DD.

lol, yeah I know the 944 is also a 4 banger.
thing is if I had the money for a s2000 I wouldn't buy a 4 banger porsche, I'd get a 928 gts or maybe a 968 and supercharger it.
the 968 engine is a 4 banger but it's basicly the size of a 6 cylinder engine and makes lots of torque / hp at low rpms.
I prefer a car with the power down low in the rpm range rather than having to rev the **** out of the engine all the time.
I've never driven a s2000 though so it might be a really nice car if I actually drive one.
in my 944 I rarely rev past 4k rpm as the engine sounds like it is going to blow up......

Could you be more specific about what I might or might not be suggesting? Define larger (peak, width, average, etc.). Also, am I suggesting the S2000 is larger with respect to what (Turbo, Turbo S, Turbo w/ chip). Thanks for helping me clarify my suggestions.

I couldn't agree more... you really hit the nail on the head.
I've got a 2006 Solstice, and while I love the car, I do wish it had more low-end torque. At the end of the day, it'll easily run high 14s all day (I have a ceramic header, hi-flow cat, and CAI), but in stop and go traffic... you really have to wind it out if you want to stay ahead of traffic. On the other hand, my 2002 Crown Victoria LX (which also breaks into the 14s with modifications), will easily pull out ahead of traffic with nothing more than 1/4 throttle.
In the Crown Vic... if a fly takes a crap on the gas pedal, I'm out ahead of traffic, effortlessly. With the Solstice, I have to wind out hte gears, and then people think I'm trying to race them.
The 944 at least seems to have enough low-end torque that it's reasonable in traffic, but cars like the Solstice and the S2000, even with the VVT, it's still primarily build for high-rpm driving. Kind of a pain in the ***. 4 cyls also just don't have a decent sound to them, although the 944 is probably one of the nicest 4 cyls I've ever heard. A modest sized all aluminum V6 with DOHC would be an awesome motor for a 944 replacement. Something of decent but modest size, like a 2.8 or a 3.0. And then for an upscale version, a turbo...
