Default knocking?

I've noticed that every once in a while there's a pulsing in the gas pedal around 45 in 5th gear.

Well, the other day on the way to work, I was doing 1800RPM in 2nd gear through a school zone and it came back (first time I've had it in a low speed). There was a knocking sound and a pulsing I could feel through the gas pedal. It did go with the speed of the engine, no oil light, oil level was fine, no lack of power, and A/F ratio seemed fine. It went away when I got up fast enough to hit 3rd gear. This lasted maybe 15 seconds and went away.

Today I had the exact same thing as yesterday happen - in the school zone again. If I give the car more gas and revv it to about 3500 before shifting, it doesn't seem to do this.

Could it be an oil pump or 2nd bearing trying to go out on me? There are 145,000 on the car and the lower end hasn't been touched.

It could just be a CV joint talking to you.

No rubber center to my clutch any more. Not a CV knock. I've done all them.

Motor mount could be a possibility...

It might not be anything major, I always start with most simple solutions, tighten the lug nuts and work your way toward the big stuff. Also, do the stock gages have a light that pops up when there's a miss-fire?
